Installation planning

Plan the cabinet, bracket, and sink fit with confidence

Use this planning guide to evaluate the sink, cabinet, access, and project sequence before installation. For drilling, bracket placement, hardware order, and final adjustment, always use the current DuraLedge® HD Installation Instructions.

Before installation

Check the sink and cabinet before installation

Confirm the sink

Record the sink manufacturer, model, material, dimensions, rim configuration, and intended installation type. Review the sink manufacturer’s requirements before selecting support locations.

Check the cabinet

Check the cabinet sides, wall thickness, any hollow or thin areas, plumbing clearance, and the space needed for positioning and adjustment.

Coordinate the project

Confirm who is responsible for cabinet preparation, countertop templating, final sink adjustment, and the sink-to-countertop connection before work begins.

Planning sequence

Plan the installation step by step

  1. 01

    Review the current instructions

Read the current DuraLedge® HD manual before drilling or installation. Confirm the kit components, bracket orientation, mounting-hole guidance, and hardware order.

  2. 02

    Prepare the cabinet

Identify suitable mounting locations and address cabinet-wall voids or thin-wall conditions with solid blocking where needed so tightening hardware does not pull or bow the cabinet walls.

  3. 03

    Plan positioning and access

Plan support from below at four adjustable points while preserving access for the drain, plumbing, disposal equipment, drawers, pullouts, and final adjustment.

  4. 04

    Coordinate countertop work

For projects receiving new countertops, position and support the sink as required by the countertop fabricator so its location can be accurately templated. Keep the sink accessible if another trade will complete final adjustment and sealant.

Installer Note

Finish with gradual, even adjustment

If the DuraLedge installer is responsible for final adjustment, raise the sink gradually and evenly until it is snugly seated against the underside of the countertop. The brackets are not intended to force the sink into the countertop. Avoid excessive upward force, particularly with thinner stainless-steel sinks.
